Business and Investment Visa
Business Innovation and Investment visas (subclass 188 and 888) are designed for individuals looking to own and manage a business, or invest in Australia. Streams include Business Innovation, Investor, and Significant Investor.
As of late 2023, most streams under this visa subclass have been temporarily suspended as part of Australia’s migration program reforms.
National Innovation Visa (NIV)
The National Innovation Visa (Subclass 858) is part of Australia’s new migration strategy set to replace the Global Talent and Business Innovation streams in 2025. NIV is a permanent visa category that focus on attracting highly skilled migrants in innovation-driven sectors. Several Australian States/Territories have already established frameworks and begun inviting or nominating under the NIV. Each state has its own specific requirements, in addition to the formal immigration policy guidelines.
For this visa, you must have achieved internationally recognised record of exceptional and outstanding achievement in one of the following areas:
a profession,
a sport,
the arts,
academia and research.
